Get Involved

The Ambulance Service is committed to ensuring public input is considered as part of policy development, priority setting, service planning and evaluation of services.

One way in which Ambulance supports public participation is by inviting members of the community to join and be involved in steering committees and working groups as consumer representatives. A consumer representative is a person who acts on behalf of the community or a community group, bringing a unique perspective to the Ambulance Service that comes from experiences as service users. If you are interested in becoming a consumer representative on a future committee, please complete our online Expression of Interest form and return it to us at the address below. Please be assured that your privacy will be respected and any details provided will remain confidential.

Should a committee be formed in your area, Ambulance will contact you to find out if you are interested in joining. There is no obligation to do so.

Expressions of interest may be sent to:
Public Affairs Unit
Clare Pemberton
Phone: (02) 9320 7795
Fax: (02) 9320 7804
Email: community@ambulance.nsw.gov.au

Involving the public in our decision making allows Ambulance to include all perspectives, expands options and enhances the decisions made. It often leads to changes that will improve health outcomes, ensures transparency of decision making and makes Ambulance more responsive to the needs of consumers. We have developed and implemented consumer and public participation guidelines with the assistance of consumers, to effectively involve the public at all levels throughout Ambulance.
