Filming
Ambulance can assist filming production companies and publication houses with their assignments.
Previously Ambulance has been involved in filming for movies, television and documentaries, magazine and newspaper publications, fundraising events and special community events. Any individual or organisation wishing to hire an ambulance vehicle, paramedics, uniform, equipment or Ambulance property must comply with the following guidelines.
Contacting the Ambulance Service
All requests must be made in writing and include the following information:
- Time/s, date/s and location/s of the assignment (including maps for particular filming sites)
- Brief overview of the assignment including the role of the Ambulance Service
- Name and contact numbers of relevant production staff
- Script overview
Unfortunately it is not always possible to fulfill requests however we will endeavor to provide other opportunities if this is the case.

Costs
Fees apply for all hire requests and are calculated according to the resources required, number of hours and length of time between date of initial notification and date of the commencement of filming.
An example of a week-day cost for hire of an ambulance and two paramedics for a four hour minimum period (provided there has been more than 14 days notice between initial notification and date of filming) would be $833.26 inclusive of travelling time.
Providing a quotation
Once your request is received and assessed you will be contacted by a Public Affairs representative and advised of our ability to participate in your event. If approved,Public Affairs will then assist in finalising details and will provide quotations that require your approval. Terms and conditions are unique to each application and apply to the hire of all Ambulance property and paramedicss.
It should be noted that all property must be stored in a secure area and is the responsibility of the hirer. All equipment must be returned clean and in an acceptable condition.
Note: All ambulance vehicles may only be driven by Ambulance Service personnel.
Ambulance reviews scripts and provides extras for a range of independent film productions and commercial television series including All Saints and Home Away. We have also been involved in commercials with NSW Police and NSW Roads and Traffic Authority.
