Duties:
To effectively manage and co-ordinate communications services within the area of coverage of the designated Operations Centre to ensure the provision of high quality cost-effective, timely and appropriate emergency health transport, rescue and patient transport services.

Selection Criteria:

  • Demonstrated management and operational ambulance experience, with a proven knowledge of clinical, policies, practices and protocols.
  • High level analytical and problem solving skills to achieve service delivery outcomes with sound oral communication skills, including presentation, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management capability and well developed written communication skills, including preparation of briefings, management reports, business papers and responses to representations.
  • Proven ability to interpret and report statistical data and key performance indicators/measures against all Operations Centre activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute strategic plans, policies and program evaluation.
  • Demonstrated people management skills, including providing staff support, staff development, performance management and the early identification of unacceptable workplace behaviours and taking appropriate action such as investigation, resolution and monitoring of harassment and bullying, grievance issues and conflict resolution.

Duties:
Provide effective coordination of the Scheme including providing expert advice on Death and Disability issues, as well as managing a small team specialising in providing advice and information on the processing of all Death and Disability applications and claims.
The position has a key role in ensuring the efficient processing of all applications and claims for medical retirement of ambulance officers. The position will also require the provision of education to all stakeholders in relation to the legislation and ensuring the administration of the Scheme is consistent and equitable to all stakeholders.

Selection Criteria:

  • Establish and maintain effective administrative procedures for the processing of claims, including effective record management procedures.
  • Develop, implement and evaluate Death and Disability policies and procedures.
  • Good planning and organisational skills in a high volume work environment.
  • Effective oral communication skills, including policies and procedures, management briefings and reports.
  • Computer literacy including knowledge of HR information systems, work processing and Excel.
  • Understanding and experience in equity and customer service with a commitment to ethical practices.

Duties:
Provide assessment and processing of applications and claims under the Death and Disability Scheme. This key role will provide support and advice in applying case management skills to the role and ensuring accuracy in file maintenance to meet Scheme objectives.
The position has a key role in processing all claims under the Scheme and providing advice and assistance to key stakeholders.
They will also be required to maintain accurate records and monitor and report on claim applications to the team.

Selection Criteria:

  • Knowledge and understanding of the Death and Disability (State) Award for Ambulance Officers.
  • Effective case management knowledge and skills.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Excellent oral communication skills, including interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Effective written communication skills able to be demonstrated and well developed conceptual, analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Good planning and organisational skills in a high volume work environment.
  • High level experience in the use of databases, word processing, spreadsheets and other Microsoft business computer applications.
  • Understanding and experience in equity and customer service with a commitment to ethical practices.
