Paramedic Recruitment
Paramedics respond to Triple Zero (000) emergency calls and provide emergency treatment, life-saving stabilisation and transport of ill or injured people to hospital.
We are currently recruiting Qualified Paramedics and Intensive Care Paramedics to join our emergency health care team.
The selection process for Paramedics is highly competitive and generally takes four months or less to complete.

Qualified
Paramedics and Intensive Care Paramedics
If you are currently employed in the ambulance industry you could be employed as a Qualified Paramedic or Intensive Care Paramedic. You would need to meet the appropriate clinical level, experience and successfully progress through our recruitment processes.
The Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) Committee reviews and recognises the qualifications and prior experience. We can also individually assess the qualifications, scope of practice and relevant experience of interstate and international applicants against those required by us.

Trainee Paramedics

Applicants with no prior ambulance experience can apply for a position as a Trainee Paramedic through one of the following three pathways:
1. Vocational training
- Applicants with no prior medical experience are offered education and training at our on-site Ambulance Education Centre following by practical on-road training. Successful graduates are awarded a nationally recognised Diploma qualification.
- We are an equal employment opportunity employer and provide programs to assist all applicants (including people whose first language is other than English or who are Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islanders) compete for employment opportunities based on merit.
- We also recognise the abilities, qualifications and experience of applicants working within the health system (eg nurses, patient transport officers and honorary ambulance officers) which may entitle an applicant to a shorter training program or higher initial rate of pay.

2. Charles Sturt University Ambulance Accelerated
Paramedic Pathway Program
- In association with Charles Sturt University (CSU) at Bathurst we offer an Ambulance Accelerated Paramedic Pathway Program allowing you to fast track your entry into the profession and establish guaranteed employment early in your degree.
- If accepted
in this program
you can commence paid employment as a
trainee paramedic, receive
financial
support to cover HECS fees
during your third year of study and gain
recognition as a qualified paramedic
after three
years of
tertiary study.

3. Other University Courses to become a Trainee Paramedic
- Several universities throughout Australia offer recognised degree courses that are specific to pursuing a career as a Paramedic.
- If you complete one of these qualifications in, for example Paramedic Science or equivalent, you will be assessed and be given advanced standing in our training program to become a Paramedic in a shorter timeframe than applicants who choose employment with no training through the vocational education program.
